The noise has been overwhelming.
If you’re like me, you’re ready for a break from the robocalls, endless political texts, and relentless negative ad campaigns flooding every device and inbox. The barrage of “vote for our person” messages has been so constant and intrusive I’ve half-joked it’s almost pushing me away from the candidates I intended to vote for.
I met with my spiritual director last week and told him at this point I’m just trying to lay low and stay grounded until this all passes. I want to avoid any more heated political debates with loved ones; this “us vs. them” mindset that blinds us with confirmation bias just isn’t helping anyone. I’m doing my best to honor differing views without getting drawn into contentious conversations, valuing my relationships more than winning an argument.
Of course I realize that so much is at stake, and I realize that depending on your perspective, what you consider most critical may or may not matter as much to those closest to you. That can be heavy and hard, and honestly, it can hurt. But I believe we’re on the verge of an incredible opportunity to find our way forward together. This week will provide us with an opportunity to move forward in a way that honors our differences and embraces them—not as divisions, but as strengths that can help build a better world for all of us.
I imagine by tomorrow night (actually probably closer to the end of the week when most of the votes are counted and reported), nearly half the U.S. will be celebrating while the other half grieves. My hope is that we all wake up the Wednesday morning able to accept the outcome, find some peace, and work toward unity. Let’s choose compassion and grace for one another as we figure out how to rebuild relationships and heal the divides.
And as we approach the other side of this election, let’s commit to returning to our center, finding the silence that restores, and choosing to realign with our best selves. Together, let’s honor our connections, even as we acknowledge our differences.
In the spirit of renewal and grounding after this intense election season, I’m opening my calendar for November one-on-one Enneagram sessions, and I’d be honored to connect with you. Together, we’ll create space to reflect on this past year, process what’s been on our hearts, and set intentions as we approach the holidays and new year.
These sessions are a chance to pause, breathe, and refocus, allowing us to enter the holiday season centered, open, and ready for the gatherings and celebrations ahead. Let’s take this time to reset and realign—together.
If you’re ready to invest in yourself, let’s explore how, together, we can build a future rooted in understanding and unity.
Let’s connect soon. You can schedule our time together here: Schedule a One-on-One Call.
