Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in conversation, in trust, in the presence of someone who can mirror back both your beauty and your blind spots. That’s why one-on-one work matters so much.
Over the years, I’ve learned that none of us grows alone.
A few key companions have walked with me through life’s hardest seasons and helped me make sense of the path. I’ve had therapists who steadied me when the ground fell out from under me. For nearly twenty years, I’ve met regularly with my spiritual director, who has mirrored back the ebbs and flows of my inner life and helped me notice how I’ve nourished or neglected my spirituality. And from time to time, I’ve worked with an Enneagram coach, someone to hold a mirror up to the patterns I couldn’t see on my own, someone who could help me get unstuck and find clarity when I needed it most.
These guides have been invaluable.
They’ve given me perspective, presence, and courage. And they’ve reminded me again and again that healing and growth are not do-it-yourself projects. They happen in relationship, in the context of trust, with someone who can see both the beauty and the blind spots of our lives.
That’s why I believe so deeply in the importance of one-on-one Enneagram work.
Why the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is a powerful tool for self-understanding, but on its own, it can also be overwhelming. There’s so much insider lingo that it’s easy to get lost in the complexity. Worse, it can be misused as a box that limits rather than a map that frees.
That’s where coaching makes a difference. One-on-one Enneagram work creates a safe, focused space to translate the insights of the system into the practical, everyday realities of your life. It helps connect the head knowledge to the heart, grounding the concepts in your relationships, your spirituality, your work, and your inner journey.
For many people, self-study gets them part of the way. But when you’re in crisis, or on the edge of a transition, or simply ready to grow, it helps to have a trusted guide who can notice what you can’t see and who can remind you of what’s truest about yourself when you forget.
My Approach
In my one-on-one work, I don’t treat the Enneagram as a rigid system. I treat it as a living, breathing map of the soul’s journey toward wholeness. My role is to meet you where you are with curiosity, empathy, and honesty, and help you explore the terrain of your own inner life.
For some, that begins with a typing or mis-typing interview: clarifying their type when the descriptions feel fuzzy or confusing. For others, it’s about digging into the patterns of fixation that show up in relationships, career decisions, or spirituality. And for many, it’s about navigating transitions, losses, new beginnings, crises of faith, or the quiet ache of feeling stuck.
I draw on decades of teaching the Enneagram around the world, but more importantly, I bring the posture of a companion, not a fixer. This is not about me telling you who you are. It’s about creating a space where you can see yourself more clearly and gently loosen the hold of the habits that no longer serve you.
The gift of the Enneagram is not just knowing your type. It’s using that knowledge as a springboard for transformation toward greater self-compassion, resilience, and freedom.
Why One-on-One Matters
Workshops, retreats, and group teachings are powerful. Over the years, I’ve hosted retreats on the Enneagram and the Tao Te Ching, the Enneagram in relationships, expanding consciousness, and most recently, healing the inner child through the Enneagram. These circles create incredible moments of shared vulnerability and collective growth.
But there’s something different about sitting down with one other person. In that setting, it’s harder to hide. It’s easier to tell the truth. And the work can go deeper, more quickly. The focus is fully on you, your story, your questions, your patterns, your hopes.
This is why I encourage anyone serious about their own growth to try at least a season of one-on-one Enneagram work. It’s not about dependency; it’s about having a companion who helps you make sense of the terrain and walk the next mile with a little more clarity and courage.
What You Can Expect
If you decide to book a session, here’s what you can expect:
- A safe and confidential space. Everything we talk about stays between us.
- Curiosity, not judgment. The goal is not to label you but to understand you.
- Practical insights. We’ll connect Enneagram wisdom to the real questions and challenges of your life.
- Compassionate honesty. Sometimes growth means naming patterns you’d rather avoid, but always with care.
- Encouragement for the journey. My hope is that you leave each session with a little more clarity, freedom, and grace for yourself.
An Invitation
I believe the most courageous thing we can do is take our own growth seriously. Not as a project of self-improvement, but as an act of love for ourselves, for those closest to us, and for the world we touch.
If you’re feeling stuck, if you’re facing a transition, or if you simply want to know yourself more deeply, I’d be honored to walk with you. You don’t have to do this alone.
